SPECIAL ATOC ISSUE!!

First of all, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY GEORGE LUCAS! We thank him for creating a world full of excitement and inspiration! We love him!

Well, after 3 long years ATOC is finally out. In my opinion, ATOC was the best of all the Star Wars movies, not only in special FX but also in plot and not to mention, the development of the Star Wars saga. Item 6 in this issue discusses the movie, so if you have not seen it BIG SPOILER WARNING!! As promised, we also have some secret but true gossip on some of the main actors in the second installment of everyone's favorite saga.

2. ATOC THIS WEEK!
*In case you haven't heard...ATOC came out today!!! Hopefully, if you haven't seen it, then you better have gotten tickets. If not, don't expect to see the movie anytime this weekend, they're probably sold out. Be sure to wear your Star Wars costume, perhaps you'll get in the newspaper or even in your local news.

*MAKE SURE TO READ OUR ATOC DISCUSSION! (ITEM 6)

*The ATOC Premiere was Sunday night and it was televised on E! It was great, featuring interviews with Ahmed Best, Samuel L. Jackson, Natalie Portman, Ewan McGregor and James Earl Jones! The good news is that the E! newscasters saw the movie last week and thought it was da bomb!!! One of them (don't recall her name) isn't even a Star Wars Freak (so she must die) and she thought it was great! Good Job George!!!!

*Did you know that Hayden keeps an angel with him at all times? His mom gave him an angel which he carries all over; he even took it on the ATOC set with him!

6. ATOC DISCUSSION------SPOILER WARNING!!!!--------

*You could kind of see this as an english essay, as we analyze symbolism, irony, and other components of the epic film...

(Highlight to read)

WE ANALYZE ANAKIN, LOVE, THE DEATH STAR, HEADS, BOBA FETT AND THE RISING EMPIRE

*Well, the stroyline fully develops and we get to see the beginnings of the empire with the clone army, the beginning of a "dictatorship" and a slight glimpse at the Death Star. We also see the ideas of anakin developing into the evil Vader.

*ANAKIN DISCUSSION- Anakin's devotion to Padme and his mother "blind" him into doing things which not only hurt him but also his destiny. The slaying of the Tusken Raiders is the beginning of that turn. We see Anakin's anger when he's in the garage with Padme, showing not only his anger but also his fear for having committed such a horrible act even though he killed "the animals." The pain shows in his eyes and we can see that Yoda's warnings are coming through, as Anakin's fear for his mother drives him to the anger and suffering...
-Side note- notice how everytime Anakin turns violent or angry, they play the imperial theme!
Also, Anakin diverts from his role as a jedi, not only by falling in love with Padme or slaying tusken raiders. He also disobeys ObiWan and is encouraged by Chancellor Palpatine. The ongoing fights between Obiwan and Anakin only lead to anger (which leads to hate) and the "positive" remarks from Palpatine build Anakin's ego. Soon, he promises to Padme that he'll become the greatest...Judging from his love for her, that promise won't ever be broken. Anakin also makes a promise to his mother that he'll never fail again...fail at what? and when does this promise come to play?

*LOVE- So a jedi's not suppossed to love, right? WRONG! As Anakin mentions, the jedi is actually encouraged to love, but equally...kind of like Jesus Christ (here we see the great mythology theme again). Jesus is loving towards everyone, despite their differences or sins... A Jedi must also...There can be no passion though...therefore Anakin cannot love any person like he loves Padme, it clouds his judgement (as we see when Padme falls off the ship). The problem with Anakin is that even though he is supposed to love every living thing no matter what, he lets that hate build up inside towards those that hurt his truly loved ones...Oh the repercussions of passion...
-side note- did anyone cry during the scene when Padme told Anakin she loved him? I DID! :(

*THE DEATH STAR- Well, if anyone read Jedi Search, they remember that Captain Daala was the creator of the evil empire's weapon... so what is up? You can argue that she still is the engineer, but the only way she ever got into power was because of her affair with Grand Moff Tarkin, who was part of the EMPIRE which has not begun yet! SO..how does this all equate? Even though we all believe the books are real, we must remember that George is the supreme mastermind here and that the book was written before this prequel, so AOTC has more reliance...let's just see what happens...

*NEW THEME: HEADS- In the original trilogy we saw a lot of arms being cut off (ponda baba, luke, vader, 3PO, etc). But in Episode two there seemed to be a lot of decapitations (including 3PO in a hilarious stunt!!!) The droids, the jedis and even JANGO! (Which I must admit, was very sad...I wanted him to last more that just one movie). Maybe in Episode 3 we'll see more cut off feet???
-Side Note- So we finally saw Anakin's arm cut off! Sad...

*EMERGING ANGER: BOBA FETT- We finally got to see the bounty hunter's anger towards Jedi's emerge... But why the narly looks at Obiwan when he enters Jango's quarters at Kamino? Well, considering the boy's a clone, he probably thinks like Jango and has inate feelings to hate jedis...but after seeing his "daddy's" head cut off, and picking it up (that would really be gross) we totally understand his need for revenge.

*RISING DICTATORSHIP=HITLER?- Well, Star Wars has always had correlations to Hitler's Nazi empire: the stormtroopers, the "facist" emperor and his followers and the Rebel "democrats". Star Wars has always depicted the World War. But now it becomes totally clear... Just as Hitler's legal rise to power, Emperor Palpatine got total control of the Republic legally; there was a time of trouble and it was totally constitutional to pass a bill which would give total control to the chancellor. (Another reason why Jar Jar Binks should be killed, even though the clone army did save Anakin and Padme and the remaining survivors.) Hitler eventually got rid of his main SS leaders because he needed the full support of his army, which *EPISODE 3 SPOILER* symbolizes why the Emperor will eventually plot to kill all his "darths" except Anakin in Episode 3. *EPISODE 3 SPOILER*
SIDE NOTE- Isn't weird how Anakin, while talking to Padme. announces that the dictatorship would be ok "if it works"? Comes to show Anakin's little "Vader" brain working.
*EPISODE 3 SPOILER*So the seperatists are not really against the empire...it's a whole plot to gain the control of the army and put the emperor in power...if only Darth Tyrannus knew what he was getting into...There can only be two sith at a time....*EPISODE 3 SPOILER*

7. SIX DEGREES OF STAR WARS

*Seeing all the hype with this thing online, in the INSIDER and on TV, we decided to start one too...

*In this week's six degrees: SHAAK TI (Who's really awsome!) AND JABBA WITHOUT USING ANY SKYWALKERS

SHAAK TI->YODA->OBIWAN->QUI-GON->JAR JAR BINKS->R2-D2->JABBA THE HUTT

Explanation: YODA was OBIWAN's teacher, OBIWAN was also QUI-GON's Padawan (you could have a direct link from YODA to QUI-GON), QUI-GON was close to JAR JAR BINKS, JAR JAR befriended R2-D2, R2-D2 served drinks on JABBA's sail barge...

(I'm sure there's a shorter way to all of this, but the more complicated, the funner it is)
